How are students selected?
A committee reviews students' applications since more students apply than slots are available. Committee members consider students high school transcripts, high school involvement and essay.
How much does it cost?
If selected, there is a one-time fee of $25 to cover the cost of courses and other expenses during the program.
Can you miss days?
Sorry, selected students must participate in the entire program.
What will we do everyday?
The program is structured. There is a daily schedule that the students follow. Remember, the program is designed to help students develop a daily routine for college life.
What are the courses like?
Courses are designed to expose students to what it is like taking college courses. Overall expectations, understanding faculty and institutional expectations.
If I am selected, I pay a one-time fee for the program?
Yes, your fee pays for the program t-shirt and all other supplies for the program.
Do I receive a scholarship for the fee or participation in the program?
You receive a $250.00 textbook scholarship for completing the program.
Do the classes meet everyday?
Yes, classes generally meet every day of the week. If you are selected, you will receive a sample schedule of activities in the mail.
How long are the classes and am I on the computer all day everyday?
No, classes are fifty minutes, generally you will meet for two to three classes each day.
Is the program residential or virtual?
This year's program is residential on-campus.
